Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy technique designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic or distressing memories. Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses rhythmic eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation to reduce the emotional intensity associated with painful memories. This allows the brain to reprocess past experiences in a healthier, more adaptive way.
EMDR is particularly effective for people who have experienced trauma, anxiety, PTSD, panic attacks, or unresolved grief. Through carefully guided sessions with a trained therapist, clients are able to reframe their experiences, lessen emotional triggers, and regain a sense of safety and control.
